bod:evolve as a teaching facility
Hi everyone! I am Niki, a fourth year medical student from the University of Colorado. Dr. Millard, Dr. Broadway and their staff have been kind enough to let me do a month rotation with bod:evolve. It is a wonderful opportunity for me to observe a private plastic surgery office. Not only have I gotten to see how an efficient and friendly office works, but I have also been able to watch some amazing surgeries. And when I say amazing, I mean it! The work that this practice does really makes a huge difference in the lives of their patients, both for reconstructive and aesthetic purposes. Furthermore, watching the interactions that take place between the patients and the doctors and staff has given me great role models in respectful and kind patient care.
Beyond the fact that this office is full of wonderful people, it has talented surgeons as well. I have learned so much about cosmetic surgical technique. In surgery, you always hope to “have good hands,” which means that you are skilled and make difficult procedures look extremely simple. And these guys do! I have seen both doctors doing a variety of procedures, and their results are amazing. They’ve shown me what it means to really be meticulous to get a great result. They also really focus on how to get a great result that is well aligned with the patient’s goals.
I really appreciate all the help, teaching and kindness that I have received this past month! Hopefully I’ll be back someday to work here again, only this time as a plastic surgeon!
